In the southeastern part of Tuscany, between the sandy beaches and etruscan tombs of Maremma, between the big extinct volcano of Mount Amiata, near the suggestive slopes of Mount Labro, there’s a green valley, the valley of the river Albegna, of the stream Riccione, in which there is a small town, Vallerona, a rustic village where the traditions are still alive.
Near the great Mount Faeta, Vallerona offers to the lucky tourist a beautiful, suggestive holiday in a pacific country, and the choice to come back in a older time, with the chance to have long walks between chestnut groves, oak woods, to discover rare rapacious birds (as Lanaio hawk), to ride a horse, to pick a lot of mushrooms, to dive into the clear waters of the torrent Trasubbino, or in the wellness of the famous Terme of Saturnia.

Vallerona’s town is nominated at the first time in 1568, but its roots are older, and its story follows Roccalbegna’s one, and tells us about Ato, king of Longobards, in the VIII° Century.
Suspended in an ancient silence, a land where the Etruscans of Aurinia, today Saturnia, passed firstly, than followed by the Roman Legions; a land desired by mighty princes in the Middle Ages, a land where nature still dominates.
